Scott Monaghan
President
Scott joined his father in the family business out of Ohio State in 1992. He helped the business grow from a modest manufacturer of burnishing and mechanical joining tools to what is now Monaghan Tooling Group: an engineering, marketing and master distributor of custom tooling for the global metalworking industry. He takes great pride in leading a dedicated team that shares a passion for delivering excellent customer service and continuous improvement. Away from work, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife Sherry – a high school marketing teacher, and their daughters Madeline and Quinn. His interests include golf, travel, and cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Kelly Burns

VP Sales & Engineering

After graduation, Kelly served a formal four year apprenticeship and received his Journeyman’s card as a tool & die maker. Throughout the years, he has served many roles in manufacturing including: manufacturing engineer, continuous improvement engineer, engineering manager and general manager with many different companies, primarily in stamping and machining. The ability to relate to the common issues within each of these roles allows him to understand how to help achieve the overall goals of an organization. His hobbies include music – with an avid love of most any guitar! – and working in the equine industry as a farrier.

Mike Galloway
Senior Application Engineer
Mike is our Senior Application Engineer that works with the North and East sales territories. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Cincinnati. He has been working in the manufacturing world for over 30 years as a manufacturing engineer in a wide variety of industries such as automotive, transportation, metal fasteners, overhead hoist and also as a machine tool application engineer. While at Monaghan Tooling Group, he has helped customers develop robust machining methods by selecting and designing both standard and special cutters which improve quality and reduce cycle times helping the customer’s bottom line. He has also taught several engineering & manufacturing courses at local universities and colleges. When not at work, he can be found enjoying the great outdoors, camping and attending local fairs & festivals. He is an avid old school rock and roll music fan and attends many area concerts when he can.

Aaron Hottmann

Senior Application Engineer

Aaron is our Senior Application Engineer covering the Midwest and resides in Southern Wisconsin. He has served in various roles – CNC machining, continuous improvement, distribution, tool engineering and management.  Aaron has extensive experience working in the Aerospace, Heavy Equipment, Automotive, and Tool & Die Industries. His background includes machining exotic materials, proposing cutting tool applications, initiating cost savings, and developing process improvements.  Aaron is persistent and has a knack for trouble shooting and correcting machining problems. In his free time, he is an avid outdoorsman that lives to hunt and fish. 

Heather Owens

Operations Manager

Heather rejoined Monaghan in 2014, continuing her 5 years of service with us. In April of 2022, Heather accepted the role of Operations Manager. She has a strong commitment to ensuring our customers get top notch service and assistance in finding a solution for their challenge and process. She has attended the University of Dayton to advance her training and leadership skills. Outside the office, Heather’s world is her family. Her 3 kids keep her busy with multiple sports and activities. She enjoys attending local craft shows and any events her kids are participating in. She feels THE Ohio State Buckeyes are kind of a big deal.

Meredith Orton

Customer Service Representative

Meredith joined the Monaghan team in 2021 as a Customer Service Representative. She returned to her home state of Ohio after living in California for 7 years. She is an avid animal lover and practices the aerial arts in her spare time. She is a part of the Big Brother Big Sister program and enjoys writing.
